Biography
Salim was the son of Abdullah ibn Umar and the grandson of the second caliph, Umar. He was one of the Seven Jurists of Medina and was highly respected for his piety, knowledge, and simplicity.
He was known for resembling his grandfather Umar in both character and appearance. Salim was a major source of knowledge for Imam Malik and played a key role in preserving the scholarly tradition of the Prophet’s ﷺ city.
