Biography

Muhammad ibn Sirin was a highly respected scholar and a companion of Anas ibn al-Malik. He was famous for his integrity in business, his deep knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence, and his unique skill in the interpretation of dreams.

He was known for his extreme caution when narrating Hadith, often insisting on exact wording. He was a contemporary of Al-Hasan al-Basri in Basra, and though they had different temperaments, both were pillars of the community.

Ibn Sirin’s legacy lives on through his contributions to the methodology of Hadith criticism and the preservation of the Sunnah.
