Ibrahim al-Nakha’i (d. 96 AH / 714 CE) was one of the leading Tabi’un of Kufa, a student of Alqama ibn Qays and al-Aswad ibn Yazid. He was known for his deep knowledge of Islamic jurisprudence and became one of the main teachers of Hammad ibn Abi Sulayman, who in turn was the teacher of Imam Abu Hanifa. Ibrahim al-Nakha’i refused the position of judge, preferring to remain a teacher and mufti.
